I am doing a live photo shoot on Oct 27th & Oct 28th for HASSELBLAD and BRONCOLOR. Hasselblad is the finest camera producer in the world. Broncolor is the premiere lighting source loved by photographers.

I will be shooting live for of hundreds of photographers and creatives at an event called "Shoot-NYC" (next door to Photo Expo at the Jacob Javitz Center). This will take place at the Terminal Building, 608 West 28th Street @ 11th Ave. on October 27th & 28th, 10AM-5PM.

Both Hasselblad and Broncolor will produce the shoot and a digital tech on-site will be processing large beautiful retouched prints during the session.

So come out and say hi, and see how cool the hasselblad and broncolor lighting are!! And meet some cool people and perhaps learn some new techniques at one of the pro workshops!

Here are just a couple of images from the photo shoot I did Sunday at the high line, an awesome old railroad converted into a park, how freakin cool is that? n ways we headed out there around three in the afternoon with a beautiful weather and an even better team. On sunday i had a couple of hours at an amazing location, Casa Kimball in the Dominican Republic where I was able to photograph a Dominican model, Carla Prieto. Here are a few shots from that shoot. (more photographs coming from this shoot, as i continue to edit)… and a behind the scenes film by S.R. Hayes.

Styling by Oscar Montes de Oca, Hair/Makeup by Richard.

Very minimal retouching had to be done… retouching only on closeup image (by helga).

This was such an amazing location… I had only wished that I would have had more time there. The model, hair & makeup artist arrived at 2pm to get started, and the model had to leave by 5pm! (just when the light was getting good! ugg!)

I had to shoot these is full sunlight (no diffuser on hand)…. but the hasselblad made the colors of the sky and water vibrant and really stand out. Thank you hassy!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been planning and shooting!! Here are pictures from two of my latest photo shoots. The first one is a collaboration with Dennine Dyer and Brittney Cochran, two super fun girls who are too talented for their own good. The second shoot was struggle but a personal victory hehe. From the moment I stepped into the Frying Pan Bar I knew I HAD TO do a shoot there, so rustic vintage and just cool. After storms, a sprained ankle and weeks of planning it finally came together on a gorgeous sunny Wednesday afternoon.

As of right now I'm leaving NYC to go to NJ and then once I get home I am hoping in my car and driving to Philadelphia. Three states in about 5 hours, thats what I'm talking about. All day yesterday I was at Ray Brown working portfolios and doing some other miscellaneous work. At first I didn't know how I felt about Ray Brown but now I'm starting to get comfortable with all the people and its actually pretty fun. I think I just needed time to adjust. Once I got back to the apartment, I received urgent emails from Jodi asking me to send out all different photos to an array of clients. The only problem is that Jodi is almost impossible to get to since she is not in the country. After searching through 4 tera bytes of memory I found the needed photos and sent them out. I have uploaded some photos from the other night when I shot an awards ceremony at the New York Yacht Club. Lots of wealthy people attended such as David Rockefeller, who is an awesome guy if I may add. I then went out for drinks at a classy cocktail bar with some guys I met that night. Being a beer guy myself, I felt uncomfortable ordering a beer at a cocktail bar so I ordered a Cosmopolitan…yeah, I was now known as the foofoo of the group haha. But whatever it was a fun night and here are some photos of it.

even though we took a moment to go to this amazing beachside location, the majority of our time has been spent in the very poorest part of the country photographing children in places where the living conditions are so horrible that i asked how safe it was to take in my hasselblad, and i was told, i wouldnt be worrying about your camera when going in here, you should be cautious of your life. i am photographing a book on the impoverished children in this part of the world..... photos coming soon. in the meantime.... here are a couple of iphone shots from our travels.

Gotta hit up Vinnie's pizza when you come to Brooklyn and

Sleeping in the city can be very noisy at times. Thank god I can sleep through anything. No one sleeps in this city, from garbage trucks to pedestrians, there is always something going on outside the studio window. All day I was at my other internship, Ray Brown. I filed, worked on portfolios and filed some more. The clock literally went into slow-mo. Usually, the time passes by productively but today for some reason it was very slow and I was just straight beat. Once I got back to the apartment I ate and headed to the roof. I shot my generic, stereotypical photo of the skyline just so I could have my own. Its an interesting place since once you get there you can begin to think in a whole different mind set. I've done it many times before but tonight I walked the boarder of the roof and looked at all the other buildings around me. I saw a man in his pajamas in an amazing apartment to a kick boxer wrecking his opponent in the gym and then a couple watching their favorite weekly television. Its a very interesting sight even though it sounds creepy, but hey, I guess you'll have to come see for yourself.

Hello people...
I am the new intern! I am from London and have come over to New York to intern for Jodi Jones! I've been here basically a month now and have only just got around to writing on here!
I Came to New York last summer to do a course at F.I.T and fell in love with the City , I've been dreaming of a way to get back here for the past year and when I found out Jodi accepted me to intern for her I was ecstatic!
Over the past weeks I have been helping out on photo shoots using Jodi's new toy 'THE HASSLEBLAD'! Last weekend Jodi did 2 beauty shoots , then during the week did a hippy inspired shoot and a shoot for a magazine for their "sex" issue... Its been amazing to see what goes on and never a dull moment in Jodi Jones studio!

Jodi left for the Dominican Republic today so I am staying in the studio while she is gone. I got here in the afternoon and now I'm just chillen watching some of The Office. This show is way to funny. I have Ray Brown in the morning so I'm hanging around. The city got hit with a pretty quick storm earlier tonight and it was crazy (that's what she said), butttt yeah, smart me wanted to go to the roof and see the storm and went I got there I almost lost my umbrella due to the wind and the crazy hail. I went to go see the skyline but it was straight black. Almost looked like there was nothing beyond the East River, pretty weird view. For now I'm pretty tired for some reason but hey, we all get like that.

Hop on in my time machine because I'm about to gun it 88 and take you guys back to last week up until now. I need to do some catch up since I haven't blogged lately. After my "Clearly Fall" fashion shoot post, I had to work the weekend grind of portrait head shots and my lame toy store job. Its always funny thinking about how one day I am working with high fashion models and the next day I'm working at a toy store in my hometown dealing with screaming children and bitching house wives.

After the weekend we did the "Peace and Love" shoot. It was supposed to be outside but due to the shitty weather we did it in the studio. The stress on set that day was at its max, but we all got through it and Jodi, Colin, Shawn and I went out for Shawn's birthday to the Metro in Brooklyn which was so weird and cool.

The next day we started preparing for the "Sex" issue shoot which consisted of, building the set. At first I was intimidated by this task but once I got it going it was a pretty awesome thing to do and complete. We built the set with 15 to 20 sheers that draped over 2 cross bars to create a dreamy/ sexy look. I loved the way that and the shoot turned out. I think the photos looks amazing and hope it will get picked up by someone major to really get some attention.

This past weekend, my mom took me shopping since she hasn't seen me in a while. What an awesome day that was since she hooked me up with the boots and maddd other clothes.

Urban Outfitter Sandstorm boots, they are a lot darker in person rather than the photo.

The funny part was while walking through Macys I saw this giant Sean John advertisement of Parker. Parker is the male model we worked with on the CD Greene shoot. Soo crazy to see that though!

Jodi has left today for the Dominican Republic so we're going to be doing some odds and ends work while she is gone. Ill be at the studio all week and working at my other internship, Ray Brown Pro, as well. Until then good bye and follow us on Twitter @bitchininterns !!!

HEy GUYZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been forever and a day. Totally been busy and trying not to commit bordom suicide....so beyond serious. So I'm in my senior year in college. Can I be blatanly honest with you guys????? IT FUCKING BLOWZ. They are repeating every peace of material and they give the class a different name. UGH...so over it!!!!!!

In other news:

I have been shooting and editing quite a bit as of late. Even been planning upcoming shoots and writing down ideas for bigger projects :-)...Oh and I'm going to start styling as well! So even though I've been gone awhile, I haven't been sleeping.

I miss you guyz...have fun in DR and I will see you guys when you get back...promise!

Howdy Partners

Heyyyyyy everybody,
things have changed since i've last written on this thang. After several weeks of testing and stress, I'm happy to say that my mother is cancer free and I can finally breathe again. It really sucked the life out of me when the doctor's strongly implied that my mom was sick. Now that this is behind me, I'm able to get back on track. My money flow is dangerously low right now, but I hope to get a job at an airport soon. I know someone who claims they are currently hiring and that's all I need to hear so I can start applying for a job. At this point, it may be wiser for me to get an airport job and visit NYC biweekly (if the schedule would permit) than do another 3 month stint; although this would probably only happen in a dream world. I've been daily looking at apartment rental rates in NYC and I end up exiting my web browser feeling overwhelmed and poor lol.

I haven't been shooting much lately and fell a bit out of my groove, but I am going to start shooting some short film skits with my friends in Chicago while I'm still here. I plan to reapply to NYU this coming semester and I want to have video materials for my application this time as opposed to pointless pictures.

I don't know much right now, but I hope that this period of uncertainty transitions into something of substance in the next few weeks.

Now that Fashion Week is near completely over, we're back in the studio hammering out creative projects since Jodi has just become Hasselblad's featured month photographer. Hassy hooked us up with a H4D and a bunch of lenses. Shit is dope. But now we have 1 month to pound out some real gnarly stuff with this bad boy. On Thursday, we did a white back drop shoot with one model and 6 different looks. The whole thing was pretty different but so awesome. Hands up for Oscar's crazy styling. Love that guy.

Yesterday was the last day of Fashion week and it was crazy. I went around the garment district all day bouncing to and from shows and presentations. My favorite show by far was the last one of the night: Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. collection. The venue was awesome, the models fierce and the clothes to die for. Jodi and I were literally pushed into the pit, where there were so many people and photographers it got out a little out of hand. As I quietly sat on the front row near the left side of the runway, "Totally Cool" Richard, the director of the pit, got into a very heated argument with an asian photographer who accused him of being a racist and several other choice words we won't mention.

I was in the middle of it all kneeling and hoping the fight wouldn't bring attention to me, causing me to get kicked out for not having credentials. If only I had more memory in my card to record it with my Canon 5d mark ii so that I can share video of the tussle with you guys. I guess my story will have to suffice.

Odd Molly Fashion show

This past couple of days have been so much fun also very very busy. Yesterday I went to Odd Molly fashion show, I walked in through backstage, snapped a couple of pictures of the girls getting ready and ran to the pit to land a good spot. I love sitting there and see the whole process, hair and make-up, light and sound check, first run through and then the doors open. After the security guard opens the doors, a herd of photographers fight for a spot in the pit as the audience walks in looking for their seats and checking out their gift bags. Its really a spectacle to witness the madness that makes a fashion show. Here a couple of images from yesterday enjoy!!!

I got to bask in the essence of the only event that matters along side my bitchin partners in crime at The Couture Fashion show. I'll have to admit, I've never had such an experience like that in my life. My body went beyond adrenaline to the point of internal bliss and external numbness....found that out afterwards when i sat down and my spine was stiff lol...a pain in which I'd endure over and over again for the enjoyment of the job.

Right now I am waiting for the first show of Sunday Couture Fashion Week to start. Today is the last day of Couture and also Walter Bakers show. Leriam, Bryan and I are running the show today and taking on most of the work. Leriam and I are switching off with teching today but yesterday I shot the backs and some fronts for Jodi. These are just 3 of my 2,000 shots I took. Couture has been a lot of fun, all of us photographers have gotten really close and its like a big photo family. Nicholas and Ron are Jodi's old friends who got Jodi into fashion photography and I was lucky enough to get really close with them over these last few days. They are probably two of the sweetest people I have ever met. I love hearing their stories of Kate Moss and all the older super models. They fit almost a grandfather position for me which is very comforting since unfortunately I don't have that any more. But the show is about to start so I will keep you updated.

Even boredom strikes at an amazing fashion show like this haha, typical.

I'm back in action again. It's been a busy, tiring, interesting, eventful, hard, yet encouraging week. As you all know fashion week has begun. Each day I show up I always seem to have a problem with remembering anything that deals with my battery to my fucking camera...kind of hard to shoot when you don't have a fucking battery Jack. That was the least of my problems...I got to walk 32 blocks with my equipment 10:30 at night because the subway track was broken and I didn't even know which way I was suppose to go.

I did get a chance to cover the Chanel party and I was pleased to hear the compliments from everyone on my photographs. Thank you everyone for that. I was most happy to hear that Andrea Grant the editor of the Fashion Spot was pleased with photos. The are posted on their blog if you would like to check it out. Right now I'm so f'ing tired that I'm going to wrap it up and talk to you more tomorrow. For now I hope you enjoy these few shots, even though I have a ton.

Oh I do ask that you don't help yourself to taking my images. Please give me credit if you do, if you don't know who i am then don't take my shit please. Things Change.

It's amazing how you can have all of these plans aligned for your life, yet it only takes one thing to make them all come tumbling down. This past month since I've been back, I've been able to make nearly enough money for two month's rent and a plane ticket back to NYC. At the rate that I was going, I'd be back to NYC by mid October with enough money to last me at least four months. All of this came to a halt when my mother checked herself into the hospital last Tuesday. Initially she had a pain her leg that caused some swelling, but after getting an MRI and biopsy, it appears that there's a high probability that she has cancer. This has turned my life upside and pushed any personal career plans that I have to the back of my list of priorities or concerns. I am awaiting results from a hospital to confirm her condition (or lack of), but needless to say, it's been a nerve-wracking week for me.

Prior to this stressful week, I've been telling my parents to travel to Europe while they have the money and their health. I've been looking into ticket prices for them to places like Italy, London, and France on various different websites. However, now that there's a possibility of my mom being sick, my desire for them to do something exciting has become a lot more adamant. If she's sick, I want her to have one last great experience before this process of uncertainty and rigorous medical treatment begins. For these reasons, I've decided to use all the money I've saved and direct my funds toward their trip. They were kind enough to provide funds for my trip to Spain when I was younger, and I want to return the favor while I am financially capable of doing so.

As it relates to returning to NYC, when or whether I come back is now uncertain. What I do know is that long as my mother may possibly be sick, I will stay by her side and spend as much time as possible showing her my love and support. My plans can wait. In a week's time, I should know which direction this goes, but I can only hope that whatever is wrong with her leg is nothing serious.

Take care everyone and I hope that everyone has a spectacular experience during their first fashion week. If anyone meets Jessica Alba or Adriana Lima, make sure to tell them I want their second set of children.

FASHION WEEK DAY 1 Part 1

So it is finally here, today starts some of the off site shows for Fashion Week. Tomorrow is the big day where it all kicks off at Lincoln Center. Yesterday, I moved my stuff into Leriams pad, did a bunch of returns for Jodi and polished it off with a great night at a Sushi Bar in Brooklyn (the sushi and saki were out of this world!).

Currently, I'm at the Studio doing miscellaneous work waiting for the Verizon guy to come and hook some new internet shit up. Jodi, Leriam and Mark, went to Lincoln Center to get the credential passes and tried to do some sneaky work (heard it didn't work though :/ ). They are going to Walter Bakers showroom do some video work and a little bit of interviewing, the only advice I have to give them with that is...Good Luck! This morning Leriam and I went to Adorama to pick up Jodi's equipment but it hadn't arrived yet...bummer. But then I went to CSI rentals and got this bad boy :). Bring it on Fashion Weekkk.

Hmmmmm, now i know why Jodi says to blog often because soo much goes on and you don't know where to start lol. Sundays production of Cornelius was totally mind blowing. From the make up, they hair, the hats, the shoes, the clothing, the theme, the acting...THE FIRE PEOPLE lol.....we sooooo got to play with fire in our hands thanks to Oscar lol smh....gotta love Oscar. Being behind the scenes and apart of such an amazing crew is just...(there are no words for it). This may sound pretty corny but even through 9 hours of shopping in the heat and returning things, I couldn't do anything but smile. If it was for something else it definitely would have been another story lol. I don't know, its weird....I'm apart of a group of individuals who are full of talent, life and artistry...it makes me want to do more!!! But in all honesty, thats whats suppose to happen...such a group pushes one another to another limit where everyone grows together. Ok, im gonna shut up now, I could go on and on lol.

Big shout out to our newest member Sophie...she is bloody amazing and i totally love her accent....she will soooo fit in!!!

Leaving on a Jet Plane…

I've been slacking lately, I haven't blogged since the weekend, but I and everyone else has just been so busy. Fashion week literally starts tomorrow. I'm on the train right now with my giant backpack, suitcase and sleeping bag going into the city to stay with Leriam for a little while. She has been so awesome and is letting me stay at her dope apartment. The last few days have been pretty crazy since I haven't gotten really any good sleep until last night when I slept for a whopping 5 hours! Most I've done in the last week.

On Sunday, we began and basically finished the fashion film entitled, Cornelius. The film looks awesome since Mark Burson, the director, has already begun piecing it together. We shot all around the city and my favorite location was at Ryan's Pub down in the east village where we made it look like an 18th Century Bar. My job during that part was to blow flour through out the room so the sun would catch it and make it look like smoke. After I was done I went outside to brush off my white covered face and everyone looked at me as if I was a heavy coc head. Rock on.

Yesterday, Monday, the plan was to do some more planning for Fashion Week and then continue the production of the Charity Calendar at 3 o'clock. The calendar shoot has been very loonnggg for everyone. The process has been pretty brutal but the outcome in the end will be literally life saving. It's a good feeling to be a part of a project like this since it is going to make such a large impact on people across the world. However, during the shoot Mark, Colin (Cornelius) and I went out to get some few extra shots. Mark let me shoot almost half the shots which was sick because I'd never really shot film before with the Canon 7D. Once it was all over, I was in charge of cooking dinner for everyone which consisted of using a charcoal grill on the 7th floor…disaster.

But, as of right now I'm on the train heading into the craziest week of the year and maybe so far of my life. Each day is making me more anxious, I just want it to come. I've been doing a lot of long nights recently which has taken a toll on my body and mind. But all I do is keep my head high with optimism and fill my body with coffee, and at the end of the day, beer. Its really weird since today school started in my town. Waking up this morning and not having to go to public school was weird, if you were to tell me this time last year what I was going to be doing right now, I'd probably laugh in your face. Pretty nuts how life throws you such curve balls. I'll be blogging a shit load this week so get ready.

-Just wanna give a special thanks to my brother, Caite, and Teal for helping me out last night and ironing my clothes for me. I appreciate it guys.

CORNELIUS

Tomorrow is the big day. At 8 am, the crew, models, hair stylist, make up, Oscar, bitchin' interns, Jodi, Mark Burson, Shawn and Colin will all arrive at Ryan's Pub on 151 2nd Ave between 9th & 10th street for the fashion film 'Cornelius'. The ideas behind the film have been going in and out for about a month now. We have finally reached the night before and are still working against the clock. It's currently 12:04am and I am waiting for a train to take me back home (which I won't step foot in my house much before 2:30am) and then wake up and go to the filming. Personally, I am really excited for this since all day today I went shopping with Oscar for the costumes and then went location scouting with Jodi and the others. All this prep work makes me want the filming to come now. It's been a pretty long fucking day. I had a bunch of friends over last night and didn't get much sleep so that didn't help either.

Fashion week is near and for some reason I am getting anxious due to the schedule is not fully set yet. Tonight I worked on it with Jodi and we got a little further. I am a person that plans everything ahead. I get very nervous when things aren't sent in stone when they are approaching. Tomorrow will be a very interesting day. The whole concept is excellent and there is a lot of amazingly talented people on board. Jacqueline will hopefully be there tomorrow due to the fact that I haven't seen her in a while because of a little incident that happened on set the other day. But everything hopefully is all back to normal since this whole thing can not be ran without chemistry. I don't want else to say right now since I'm pretty beat sitting on the floor of Penn Station watching the Saturday night drunk crowd hang around me. The weirdest part is, I kinda wish I was one of those drunk people right now…

Friday, September 3, 2010 was my first "hit the pavement" workout in preparation for Sundays extravaganza project. I got to spend the day with the amazing, talented and very entertaining Oscar Montes de Oca aka "The God of Wardrobe!"

Our first stop was Walter Steiger where we met with Gloria Li Chen aka "The Goddess of Organization!"

...well, its literally in the sky lol. Chen set us up with more than enough 'clacks' for the shoot and by the way (gossip) I hear they are the same shoes being used in the Richie Rich show during Fashion week that Jodi is apart of....but you didn't hear that from me lol.

Hats

Next stop was off to Harlem to check in with Head-wear Designer Evetta Petty. The woman is as graceful as the time she puts into her work. When i saw the head pieces, both I and Oscar were more than satisfied...she's a genius! This is her first project outside of her normal creations for the ladies of God >>>> (gossip) she will be crossing over into the fashion world soon via Oscar, but you didn't hear that from me neither lol.

Clothing

Our final stop, which believe me doesn't come close to being "lastly" as it sounds lol, was Soho...the home of fashion aka "OMG I love it" lol, yes, I said it, where we shopped, literally, for 6 hours for the outfits. We went to H&M, love that place normally but they didn't give what we were looking for....we went to other places but I can't really remember...I had my first Fashion Overload yesterday, yes, I am no longer a virgin lol. However, I do remember going to Top Shop, picking out a few things and bumping into this ad:

All-in-all, I enjoyed being Oscars intern for the day, shopping for an awesome project, and being in the atmosphere in which i love so much, fashion!

Killer Day, September 2nd 2010

The shoot we did today, totally made up for all the emailing, late night hours, and frustration that most of us interns and hopefully jodi as well, have been having. Just by that opening sentence I hope all of you know its going to be good. We all met up at Nuela Restaurant at 12 Noon to do an on location fashion shoot with Ruth Osumarez (Miss. Domican Republic) for Mujer Unica Magazine. Jodi shot for the cover and then 3 other photos for an editorial.

The restaurant, Nuela, was at 43 W 24th St. between 6th and 5th Ave. The outside is very ultra modern with large glass windows and a sheik gun metal front. Walking inside, your confronted with a lot of red as it is the main color tone of the place. The bar was beautiful as well as the bathrooms downstairs which was one of my favorite parts. The owners and staff were very accommodating and the shots looked amazing due to their patience and help. A big thank you goes out to Nuela and I urge everyone to go there, the food was out of this world.

Ruth was an amazing model and did an incredible job. My mouth was in awe every time she stepped foot in front of the camera due to the work that she was producing. She is an extremely gorgeous woman who also runs a charity and can be found at www.orangehearts.org. Having a fun and good looking model always sets the tome of the shoot. I will upload some behind the scenes photos soon.

Late, Late, Late Nights…

“Good Morning passengers we are now departing from New York Penn Station on the 1:22 am train to New Brunswick…”

Wait, did she just say good morning? But, I am coming home from my day. Personally, I believe I have just hit my true generic, stereotypical view of an intern. But what’s up? I’m a Bitchin’ Intern.

I haven’t blogged in a few days since I have been so dead from the travel. I want fashion week to come so badly so I can have my experience and be able to not travel back and fourth everyday. Yesterday, I was at Jodi’s for some cleaning up of the studio for preparation of today’s shoot. After, we did some “Maid in Manhattan” work (mind you want an awful movie that is, thanks to J-Lo) we went to Walter Bakers showroom to shoot a look book preview. Within 5 minutes of being there, Walter was already yelling at his own stuff as well as Jodi’s Bitchin’ Intern crew for moving their brand new wood table. Ohhh Walter and his heavy testosterone ways. Even though he comes off as a hard ass with a one-way opinion, I really like the guy. There’s something weird and sincere about him that I enjoy. The model we used yesterday was 18 years old and it was her first gig…3 looks in and she said she was about to pass out. Hey, it happens to the best of us but she finished the shoot doing an awesome job like a professional.

Today, I started my day out at Ray Brown Pro (my other internship), by doing odds and ends intern work. This includes scanning images, filing, copying and doing errands, SO MUCH FUN…not. Half way during the day I shooted Jodi a text since she was doing the second day of three for the Charity calendar shoot. Asking how it was going, I received a response with “Crazy…a lot of tension on set today, I snapped, we are all crazy…beware.” I bet you know how I felt after seeing that text. However, once I got there around six it wasn’t that bad and it seemed like the chemistry was flowing a lot better than what I expected. Once everyone left Oscar, Jodi and I started doing in depth work for Jodi’s new fashion film, Cornelius. We brain stormed for hours and it was pretty productive, thank god.

Fashion Week is a week from today. It’s going to be crazy, intense, fun, hell, artistic and everything in between. I’ll be blogging a lottt during next week as well as Tweeting (bitchininterns) so stay posted, you’re in for a ride.

Calendar Shoot!!

Here are some behind the scenes photos from today's calendar shoot. I got to be a model today!!! It was so much fun pretending to be a model for a day, getting my make-up done, hair, posing, everything makes you feel so glamorous and beautiful. It's so different from whenever I am behind the camera. In that instance, it does not matter how I look as long as I get "the shot." When I'm the model, I can't be sweaty and gross. I think today's experience was interesting but not something I would like to do often. Modeling does not give me the same thrill and excitement that photography does. I think I'm content being a part-time model and full-time photographer/bitchin intern:

Hey wassup people, i'm writing this in a rush because my friends are waiting outside for me so we can see a movie. Anyway, this weekend I took pictures of my engaged friends and needless to say, I was very happy with how they turned out. We did two drastically different photoshoots - one with them as assassins and a soft black and white session of them on the beach. I only have two pictures to post now, but I'll definitely add more as soon as they come!

The Life of an Artist

Don't worry folks, I'm still alive :-)

As an artist, there are quite a few obstacles we have to strap on our hard hats and go through. Besides already being cursed as a gemini, we all live double lives: The Artist and The Laborer. We all know what the Laborer does...pretty much any&every~thing to get by until The god of Art pulls their number lol! Believe me, waiting for he or she to call that number requires the virtue of patience....I ALMOST quit one of my job twice already lol smh...its rough!!! But i suppose with struggle, annoyance, and homicidal thoughts comes greatness. I had the pleasure to do an awesome photoshoot with my buddy Brandon Coates, wardrobe stylist and designer...and we totally rocked it:

Was a beauty dark and rainy day and we had a great time shooting!

I also had another fantastic shoot Saturday morning with a model named Adam from Empire Modeling Agency. She(agent) told me he would be better than all of the models I've already shot thus far for her. Let's just say, she wasn't lying:

The moral of the story is...with bad comes good!

From Ghetto Trash To (Slightly Less Hood) Upscale Class

Wassup my frenemies. The king is back again for his weekly entertainment. Sit back, take notes, for I am no longer sick and I'm in full health (minus my hourly allergy attacks and dry eyeball).

Yesterday was quite the interesting day. Amongst my group of friends is a young african american girl named Brianna. She's pretty rowdy and ghetto, but we love her because she's full of energy and has a good sense of humor. I feel that Brianna has model potential, but before she pursues it, she needs to drink more water and watch her weight a little bit. Despite minor obstacles, I chose to go with a friend and take her clothes shopping for a potential outfit to photograph her in.
With my own two eyes, I am able to see the potential, but I wanted to make sure that it translated to camera. Brianna has exaggerated and oddly shaped head and facial features, making it uncertain how well her face translates on camera. We found a turtle neck dress at H&M that seemed like it could work so we paid for it, but you BEST BELIEVE that we returnin' that thang this week fo' a full refund. Know that, Believe That, TRUST IN DAT!

After getting the dress, we took her to a friends house to do some make up and before we knew it, it was freaking 10:30 PM. Not an ideal time to start setting up lights and a background for a photoshoot. But..When Brianna came out of the bathroom with her makeup and outfit on, I knew the hassle would be worth it in end. The shoot itself was a bit difficult, being that I lost the outward white diffuser to my softbox and tried using a bedsheet to soften the light instead. Despite these issues, there were shots that I was happy about. These pictures have some minor facial retouching (in terms of blemish removal and makeup restoration), as well as slight liquification to the waist-line. I hope you enjoy the pictures and livin' the NYC life while I wallow here in Chicago, trying to collect money on the street.

I want to congratulate Timothy and Heather Leposky! I was gone from Jodi's studio to PA and I was able to take pictures of the Austin Healey below and I got a shot of Heather and Tim. They had a beautiful and amazing wedding. I wish both of them a long and happy life together. :)

I would also like to thank my aunt shannon and uncle jimmy for giving me a awesome bed to sleep in and of course feeding me. Aunt shannon I'm sorry i'm sorry I almost broke you bedroom light/ripped your fan off the wall showing you how I slept.....because that was so interesting to hear about.

Catie and Court I'm so happy I got to see both of you, and hopefully I will see you both really soon. Catie is a pistol that kind of reminds me of me.......I give fare waring to the weaklings, to back the fuck down because you can't handle that kind of awesomeness! lol ;) It was a pleasure meeting gage catie's boyfriend. Court I hope I get to see you up in NYC, your so sweet and I was glad to see you let loose on the dance floor.

Mom and Dad thanks for giving my broke a$$ some money before i went back to NYC. I love both even though it only took 10 min after we saw each to start arguing about where we were going to eat because it was getting late, but I still miss ya!

I didn't get to see my brother, sister, and my nephew, but I missed seeing you this weekend. I will see you guys soon! Love ya.

A Toast To The Home Life

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I'm back from the dead. Coming back home has been an interesting experience. I've been able to see the majority of my friends, sleep in a bed, eat ice-cream, krispy kremes, and get partially spoiled (though i'm still paying for my gas and stuff). I miss NYC and being with the interns, but I feel that I need this little break. Unfortunately, I've been sicker than a dog these past few days with a cold. I've been trying to sleep the sickness away, but it hasn't turned out too well.

I went to a wedding on Saturday and it was a fun experience. I was supposed to be one of the groomsmen, but I couldn't afford the suit so I had to back out. Despite not being a part of the in-crowd, I still spent a sufficient amount of time with the bride and the groom before they went to Puerto Rico to make babies with each other. If I ever defeat my self-demolishing ways of Procrastination, I'll post iPhone videos I took of the ceremony.

Yesterday I felt like taking a few pictures of my friend Nina with the outfit she wore to the wedding. It was heavily inspired by the singer Janelle Monae, so for anyone who sees the few pics I post, IT WAS INTENTIONAL, SUCKAS. I haven't gotten a chance to edit these yet, (color balancing/overlays, liquifying, and patch tooling), but if I find some edits worth posting, I will. Until then here are few random shots. These Past View Days

Down Fall Arises: 8.19.10

Jacqueline and I on Thursday had our first encounter with the first step preparation for Fashion Week. Jodi gave me 2 contact sheets with hundreds of designers on them and I started my emailing journey to access backstage, front of house and riser access for shooting. I finished yesterday, so all in all it took me around 2 to 3 full days to email 262 designers with some having 3 different emails each. After our Thai lunch Jacqueline abruptly started packing up her belongings and got up to leave. Pondering what was going on, Jodi asked Jacqueline what was wrong. This then opened up to Jacqueline’s true feelings about the changes that have been happening. I’m not going to go into detail to what was said but it did rock the boat of the studio. I have no personal hard feelings against anyone that I am working with but it seems like others do. Hopefully, things will take their place and everyone will be able to get along. But that only happens in a perfect world.

Friday, during the day was pretty boring. Leriam and I sat and emailed designers for about 5 hours straight. My damn eyes really start to strain after looking at my Macbook for that long. But all of this will pay off once Fashion Week comes and all of us will be pissy, sleep deprived and angry. But hey! That’s Fashion Week baby. After, our emailing journey, we went for a meeting for a new charity calendar that Jodi is donating her services to. We arrived in a beautiful penthouse apartment across the street from Central Park. The board members all seemed like good people and we all sat in a circle, discussed the project and ate some cheese washing it down with red wine. The calendar seems like a great project and will have a huge impact on the charity. But it is a little disorganized in my eyes. First, they want it for this January. In an ideal world to have a calendar out for January, it would be in stores by Mid August. It’s late August now and we haven’t even started yet. However, with the collaboration of all the intelligent people going it to it, I’m sure we’ll be able to pull it off.

Tethering!!!

Yesterday I went to Jodi's studio to help her out with the Ardistia's Spring 2011 Collection. I walked in thinking it would be like the rest of the shoots, little did I know I would be in charge of the tethering. Ahhhh there were no other interns to tackle the task with, and Shawn was leaving to CD Green's. I braced my self and sat on the chair, once things got started I felt more and more comfortable. It was a great shoot, everything ran smoothly and quick, thank God the software didn't crashed and I actually enjoyed the experience.

The collection Jodi was shooting was absolutely stunning, I was drooling over the amazing garments, they were all so chic and elegant, definitely saving up to buy one of those coats, but until then I will enjoy the pictures. Overall it was a great day, I can't wait to tether again and become a master, so watch out world!!

August 14, 2010 was my first shoot with Jodi and the bitchin interns at the showroom of Autumn Cashmere for their Spring 2011 Collection. The feeling I got was indescribable...from the set to the tethering station, I was floating.

All in all, the photographer, makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, hairstylist, set crew...everyone made that day a success, ya know, without someone throwing a camera across the room or having disagreements that lasted hours in front of a live audience hahahahahaaaaaaa!

I had the awesome task of picking up the bike aka "prop" and I must say I felt pretty bitchin, as an intern of course, that I got it back FULLY ASSEMBLED<<< total insider unless you're Leriam :-)

This has been an eventful four days.
Saturday, August 14, I was asked to do a favor for Hazuki, the makeup artist for our fearless leader Jodi Jones. She needed to do some beauty tests and for some reason she thought I would be perfect for the job.

It was fun for once to be the girl in the makeup seat getting ready rather than the intern watching a model get pampered. Getting my makeup done by professionals was a true adventure.

I’m used to sleeping in on Saturday’s but this time around I woke up early and headed to Bond Street Studios in Brooklyn, which blew my mind. The studio was a photographer’s Dream World with all the equipment and space you can imagine. It even had its very own darkroom. The natural light and the space is amazing. I would give my right hand to be able to shoot there some day, but this time around my business was being a canvas for the makeup artists.

The day began with a “natural look” that transformed me into a fashionista from another decade — the 90’s to be exact. From there, we moved onto a more dramatic look which included bright red lips and eyeliner fit for a Geisha. I was amazed at the amount of detail and dedication makeup artists go through just to apply lipgloss.

I would have taken pictures, but unfortunately I was glued to the makeup chair, so my quaint descriptions will have to do.

Not much else happened on Saturday, but more fun awaited me on Sunday. The rest of the bitchin interns and I met up at Jodi’s studio for a workshop on how to tether your camera to a computer for a shoot.

I’ve got to say it was a bit technical for my taste, but I’ll master the technique if it kills me. I’m glad Jodi is so adamant about teaching us bitchin interns as much as possible so that we can use the real-world skills we learn from her in our careers some day. Jodi has a “Thank You” card in her near future.

When the workshop finished we headed to the roof to grill some burgers that were marinating during the workshop. The rain had different plans than us and after the meat was done cooking we retreated downstairs to enjoy the delectable burgers.

Monday, I was on set with Jodi for the Autumn Cashmere shoot where we got to put our newly learned tethering skills to the test. I was only able to be there half of the day, but it was a fun learning experience being able to watch Jodi in action. She shot around 100 looks in just one day — a perfect example of efficiency and beauty.

Watching Jodi on Monday gave me inspiration for a shoot I did on Tuesday in Central Park. It was my first time working with male models and it was not as challenging as I thought it would be. The guys were easy going and the team — from the wardrobe stylists to the makeup artist — were fantastic to work with.

I tried to take advantage of the beautiful natural light gleaming through the trees of New York City’s backyard and came away with some shots I was pretty proud of.

YESTERDAY

These past few days have been quite bittersweet. I feel that much has happened in a short span of time, but it has flied by so quickly that i've barely been able to process each unique experience. Instead, it has become a bit of a blur that I must dissect thoroughly to hold on to each memory. I was lucky enough to still be around for Monday's Autumn Cashmere look-book shoot that Jodi was photographing (with Shawn running tech). I was given the 2nd shift due to my hungover tardiness at the last shoot that I was present on. Initially I was disappointed because I wanted to spend as much time with the group as possible. I knew that there was a high probability that it would be the last time I would see these people before I went back; judging by the time on the clock, that truth is become more and more realized.

The shoot itself went relatively smoothly. Jodi was tethering the images straight to her computer so that the client would be able to make their selects immediately. The background was of a beautiful texture, but I felt that pictures may have not done it complete justice due to the tone of the look-book (more commercial) in comparison to the rough and edgy texture of the backdrop. Still, the images were awesome, the models were lovely and cooperative, and everything was running absolutely smoothly until... the curse of the Stefano struck again! Out of nowhere, the battery pack that was powering Jodi's lights stopped working. After a few failed attempts to turn it on, Jodi resorted to shooting the remainder of the shots using natural light. Fortunately, there were only a handful of outfits left and the pictures still turned out quite pleasantly. After an hour so of Jodi and the client making final choices, we were ready to pack the stuff up! The greatest difficulty we had (the 2nd shift trio of Elias, Bryan, and Jacqueline) was taking down the texturized vogue-tastic background. We didn't want to crinkle it and we were afraid that it'd kill us if it fell off the poles suspending it in the air. After a few different techniques and patience testing procedures, we were able to take that bad boy down and roll it the hell up!

At this point, Jodi and Shawn only needed to interns to come back with them to Brooklyn to unload the equipment. Since Bryan worked the entire photo-shoot on his first official day with Jodi, we all agreed that he needed to take himself home to get some damn sleep! I can imagine that the ride back was head-ache inducing for Shawn and Jodi because they were entrapped in a car with Wackie Jackie and yours truly who happen to be the Guinness World Record Holders for Loudest Talker (Jackie) and Greatest Rambler of Useless Information (Me!).

After a rainy, yet peaceful car ride, we arrived at Jodi's and unloaded everything inside the apartment. I gave the videos that i took of the shoot to Jodi, showed her a few graphics, and said my inevitable goodbyes. Jodi tried giving me a movie-moment farewell, but the elevator took to long to arrive so she just slowly walked in to her apartment (backwards, or it doesn't count). and shut the door. That night I waited five long hours for the elevator to come, but it never showed up. Sounds like my father. Just kidding, my dad loves me. Anyway, I took the train back to the apartment and spotted the Walter Look-book model on the train.

I Am A Stalkerazzi. Deal with it.

Like the creepo that I am, I took a picture to send to Jodi so she could confirm my sighting. All this spy work and sneaky behavior made me hungry, so I did what I normally do when I crave something of great nutritional value: I called up Dominos Pizza!

Needless to say, I was satisfied and my day ended cheerfully with a bloated stomach and leftovers in the fridge.

TODAY

GAHH!!!

Today was my final day at Ray Brown Productions, my other internship that I picked up here in NYC. It was a weird last day that felt a bit uneventful. I didn't do much other than labeling portfolio packets for one photographers. I also had another mishap when shredding documents for one of the employees named Shannon. The shredder states that it can shred up to 25 pages, but I freaking beg to differ; the number is more like 5-10. After using pliers to get out the jammed paper, I finished my task and moved on-to-the-next-one. In addition to this being my last day at Ray Brown, it was Chris White's first day! He's taking over my responsibilities there and hopefully he'll seize more opportunities there than I did. I originally planned to begin the training process for him, but my boss, (for lack of better terms), preferred that Chris eased into the internship and studied Artist Portfolios instead.

All in all, it was an unproductive last day, but I am grateful for the administrative skills that I picked up while there, as well as the pizza party they threw me. I gave everyone a hug and went off to meet my friends from Chicago who were in town for a few days. Meeting up with my old friends was a great experience that allowed us to reflect upon our childhood and experiences we shared together in Chicago. At this point in the day, I feel that I'm ready to go back home. This desire is not for a permanent stay, but simply to re-identify myself with my normal surroundings and revert myself back to the core individual that I normally am. This way, I'll be regenerated and more in tune with myself when I ship myself back to The Big Apple for another Go. It's been a fun experience and I've learned a lot of lessons while here. Though I haven't met many people, I have had great experiences with the ones I have and learned a lot from them as well. I wish I could've done more with my time here, but despite my reservations, I still feel that I've accomplished a lot and set an example for friends and family back home who are too afraid to leave the nest and do something different with their lives. New York, you were lovely. Don't ever change. Well.. I take that back, be more inviting to me next time and stop ruining/stealing/hiding my technology. Plus, where are all the NICE, shorter, hot girls at? Not anywhere near me, damn it.

Autumn Cashmere...And Then Some.

With both eyes closed, a shrieking noise in the air, I feel a sudden stillness erupt. At that very moment my sleeping body awoke and the train conductor yelled, “Last stop New York Penn Station! Last stop!” And here I was drowning in my own restlessness ready to start my adventurous day with the one and only, The Bitchin Interns.

I met the new intern, Bryan, street side by the freight elevator near the side of Autumn Cashmere. We waited a few until we saw Shawn’s black SUV drive up with Jodi smiling in the front seat. Once we all met again and made conversation, the four us began setting up for the day’s events. Today’s agenda was to shoot around 70 shots for Autumn Cashmere’s new Winter 2011 look book. My highlights of the shoot were tethering, the backdrop, and our vintage prop, the bicycle. The backdrop was very special since it was handcrafted, black, and textured with asphalt/paint. Bryan ran into a problem with the Bike since they told Leriam it was ready to be picked up and upon Bryan’s arrival they told him it would take 3 hours to assemble. After a worried call Leriam did her magic and the bike was found assembled and ready in the store. Clutch. The models chosen today blew me away, I was really into their style and I thought one in particular was outstanding.

Autumn Cashmere’s line is very classy and comforting with a hidden badass at some points. My eyes always get stuck viewing their clothing when I step foot in their showroom. The whole staff at Autumn Cashmere is compiled with great people. I always love their company. Since it was a tight space we had a shift change of interns around 2 o’clock, Elias and Jacqueline took over for me and Leriam and I think Bryan stayed the whole time. For the first time I surfed the subway down to Canal St. to pick up some light bulbs for the strobes. Dying of heat exhaustion, I arrived back at the showroom to a quesadilla wrap and air-conditioning (It was like arriving to a vacation).

Once I got back in the Dirty Jersey, a few friends and myself went into a town near by called Somerville to check out my best friends new pad. The apartment is dope. Now were at my friends recording studio messing around, hanging, drawing and chillen. Tomorrow I’ll be back in the city to feel out my new internship at Ray Brown Pro, but I will also still be at Jodi’s full time since I am addicted to it.

2ND SHIFT

Jodi had to split up shifts today between the interns, and me and Elias got 2nd shift.
Today was a pretty decent day. We had encountered a problem with the power pack towards the end. I do want to give a special thanks to Jack Rinehart a photographer in St. Louis Missouri, and one hell of a photo teacher. I called him up. I was able to get a hold of him, and he helped figure out the problem. Jack I want to thank you for being there for your students and knowing what it takes to be a photographer that's a badass. Thank you for your help it was, without a doubt, appreciated. :)

I have a headache right now and I'm ready to scream because it's 85 degrees in my apartment and the ac isn't working. fml.

Rooftop Renegades

Yesterday was quite an eventful day! There was a tethering workshop at the studio yesterday. We learned how to use a tethering cord and the necessary steps that must be taken to reduce any technical problems that may arise. This was an exceptionally important workshop to me because I had always wondered (until recently) how photographers I see on television sync their images directly to the computer for easy-viewing. Now that I have this information, I'm taking my short self to the nearest camera store in Chicago and 5 finger discounting one of those cords.

After the workshop, the snitchin' interns and Leriam's sQuEeZe Daniel went to the local corner store to grab some drinks for the BBQ. When we came back, the roof was our destination! Unfortunately, the whether was less than favorable, but we stuck it through for a round of drinks, a few pictures, and just long enough for Shawn to grill up some of his famous burgers. We brought the party downsturrz where we ate, listened to hipster theme songs, and discussed some important aspects of the Autumn Cashmere shoot. We missed Jacqueline Wacqueline today and Stefano de' Italy as well. As I am writing this, the A.C. Photoshoot is going on and I'm about to put my shoes on and take over the next shift. With this, I bid you farewell!

Kick Back a Day.

My day today was pretty legit and kicked back, which a day like that to me is pretty awesome. We had a mini workshop on Tethering photos today and for Tethering 101 it was a little bit more difficult than I imagined, but I defiantly got the basics down. Its a really good way of working since your clients can see on a larger monitor the shots you take which then speeds up the shoot. Shawn did an excellent job teaching us how to do it and it was funny because it seemed like a classroom at one point haha.

However, afterwards we packed up some burgers and other shit and went roof bound. It was so gnarly to kick back, drink some Corona’s, eat delicious kettle cooked chips, and watch Shawn prepare us some true cheeseburgers. Poor guy had to teach and cook for us today haha. It started to rain a little but that didn’t faze us since we were overlooking an epic skyline with the clouds rolling through it. Our fun did have to end since the rain got steady which forced us to go back down to the studio to eat. Everyone I think had a good laid back time today. We all connect pretty well, (at least I hope they think that too or else it looks like I’m fucked). But I’d give it two thumbs up for a Sunday and Ill be back in action in Manhattan tomorrow at the Autumn Cashmere shoot. Stay classy fellow readers and friends as I sit here in Penn Station waiting to go homeee.

Earth, Wind and Fire

Had a wild and crazy night last night...I suppose the entire bitchin crew got a little more than chocolate wasted, lol but that didn't stop us from coming together on this awesome Sunday and learning how to tether!!!! After the session we went up to the roof(earth), the weather was cloudy, rainy, and windy, and we had a bbq(fire) lol....

Sooo, today is Sunday. Usually I don't come to Brooklyn on Sunday, but today is a different day. Were about to start a tethering workshop to learn how to shoot with the photos directly transferring onto the i-Mac. I'm pretty tired this morning since I was at a friends graduation party and had a few (or more)...beverages. But you can't let that get in your way, I know its hard.

Last Friday, a bunch of us bitchin interns were at the studio doing some different projects. I made a concept project for blogger guru, celebrity, model and creator of Fashion Toast, Rumi Neely. Jodi is trying to get her to come to the studio and shoot a fashion video in the style of a Bohemian/ Hippie thing. If she gets it will be straight righteous. Then Shawn, Elias, the new guy Bryan and I went to Autumn Cashmere to drop off the equipment and crazy backdrop for tomorrows look book shoot.

But were about to start today and then afterwards were gonna go grill on the roof, (I'm stoked!). Talk in a tad.

Taking the Bull by the Horns

Tomorrow I will ATTEMPT, with possibly resetting my alarm 5 times to do it, to go see that badass wall street bull. I will be getting up at 5 to get on that glorious subway and I will take the bull by the horns, and there better NOT BE one fucking tourist riding that bull or I will punch them in their face and then they will fall off. I will hurry up take my picture and get back on the subway before any assault charges can be filed. Do not take the 4 or 5 train uptown if your downtown by wall, nor should you take the L train to Brooklyn. If you do, I'm sorry if the cops will be looking for me and they pass your stop up. All I wanted was to take a picture. :(

On the upside, Jodi's having a workshop tomorrow WOOWOO! I'm excited! :) So people I will inform on more tomorrow about how things go. When it comes to photographing this bull without a person in the shot....well all i can say is that I'm going to be all over that ice cream beat like sprinkles. That's something i've picked up from a friend on facebook.

Hello readers from around the world,
I am back from hibernating in a cave upstate with my fellow grizzly bears. This past Thursday I was supposed to meet with Jodi on some project, but it was delayed until to Friday. However, upon my arrival to her apartment, the meeting never quite took place. Instead, I went to JUNK to look for potential props for Jodi's AUTUMN CASHMERE shoot that will be taking place this Monday.
I'm really excited that we're finally going to be working together on another shoot. I was worried that I was going to leave on Wednesday without doing anything significant in my final week here. However, it was just my luck that Jodi decided to schedule one of her Power Weeks (I coined that term) the week before I leave.

At JUNK, there were a lot of interesting Vintage items there, however, these fools were frontin' like they were selling new furniture items that they hand-crafted themselves - or at least that's what they're outlandish prices suggested. They're lucky I didn't burn the place down or kick some holes in the furniture; however, knowing them, that would give their furniture more credibly and they'll probably sell it for more freaking money.

After I came back to Jodi's apartment, I ran into Shawn, Wackie Jackie, and Bryan, Jodi's newest intern! He's a really cool guy and down to earth which is awesome and will make working alongside him a fun experience. - BACK ON TRACK -
After showing Jodi the furniture available at JUNK, the guys gathered Jodi's equipment and packed it into Shawn's truck. We drove into the city to collect a super cool background that cost an ARM AND A LEG to rent, but in the end it should be worth it since it's the kind they use when shooting VOGUE. Upon retrieving the backdrop, we headed down to AUTUMN CASHMERE to drop everything off for Monday's shoot. When we got there we were welcomed with their Rihanna loving employees who had just came back from her concert the day before. It was nice to meet them and I look forward to seeing them again on Monday where I told them they must blast the new Rihanna and Eminem song as I walk - through - tha - door!

All in all, I'm excited for Monday's shoot, as well as Shawn's tethering class he'll be teaching tomorrow at Jodi's apartment. It's gonna be coolllllllllllllllll. With that said, I'm OUTTIE. It's time to go to SoHo and pretend I can afford the clothes over there.

MY god damn eye needs to stop hurting! My tear ducks apparently wanted to go on vacation and not work because their lazy! That's what went on today.

So anyway, we're getting ready for a shoot next week, and fashion week people is coming up! WOO WOO!!!!!! Fashion week apparently = Nutty people, no worries photographers document some of them.

I've been trying to get my project started but I unfortunately can't seem to start with sam. :( But that's okay it will be started. Basically I'm typing this right now so that i get in the habit of blogging and that's flipping hard.

I'm really tired so I think I might go to bed right now. Tomorrow will be a new day for my beautiful photography career ahead of me. ;) I have to go rest these money making eyes.

Self: So tell them a little about ~~myself~~ yourself.

Bryan: Well, I'm a senior in school studying Business and Marketing, I like long walks anywhere, chocolate and Italian Dining.

Hahahahahaha, I can be quite the character. "You're not living unless you're having a good time" is my motto.

To be completely honest, I was quite anxious to meet with Jodi and the team today. I got there and it was a laid back work environment, everyone was cool and full of life and energy. I'm eager to work along side each member of "The Crew" :-) and learn the ins and outs of the world we call Photography [FYI, its bigger than earth :-)]

So after a few days of not being at the studio due to Jodi’s vacation, were back in full swing with a packed schedule.

Yesterday, (I was very tired and it was late last night so that’s why I didn’t blog) Jodi, Jacqueline, Sean and I went for a meeting with Fashion Spot’s Managing Editor Andrea Grant to talk about Fashion Week 2011. Due to this is the biggest week of the year; we started covering the basics of what was going to go down. Finally, Mercedes-Benz released the schedule for this year, which sounds amazing as it is. This year Jodi is going to shoot for Fashion Spot as well as Associated Press and I think Zuma Press too. The Fashion Spot people are totally awesome. Andrea is a beautiful young woman who is extremely talented and knows what she wants. When we arrived we met Andrea, her marketing manager, and a fellow photographer named Patrick. Right as we got into her sheek NYC apartment we were asked if we would like to par take in a Margarita, (I was already in heaven with The Fashion Spot after those words left Andrea’s mouth ☺). We then got right into business and went rooftop to discuss the low down for Fashion Week.

As of right now Jodi is trying to get me a pass so I can get into Fashion Week to work my ass off. People look at this event as a glamorous over the top party/beauty event. And hey, don’t get me wrong it probably is. But for those who are behind the lens, yeah it blows. Photographers will work 14 to 16 hour days, edit their photos after the events, then send them to their reps. After all of that…. its morning! And then we start it all over again. But I keep my head high and am dying to be a part of this grueling task.

Today, its 10:58 am, and I am on my way to Brooklyn to plan out Mondays shoot which is with Autumn Cashmere. I’m pumped for this since the last time we met with Autumn Cashmere, everyone got along and chemistry is key in this business. As well as planning today, there is a new intern named Bryan who is starting and I’m excited to meet him as well.

So for right now, goodbye to all my readers and I will post up later of what happened today. Let’s hope its good one because hey, when isn’t it not.

Sorry I had some friends come into town to visit this weekend and I've been doing my homework so I haven't posted anything even though I have a lot of photos to show you.

Casting Call Virgin

I just got really excited on the train ride home since I sporadically had Internet access. Very perplexed by this, I started surfing the web. And then it was gone within in 30 seconds. Good-bye excitement.

Today, Jodi, Jacqueline and I went up to the garment district right on 39^th and 8^th for a casting call for Autumn Cashmere. Being a virgin at casting calls I expected it to be a room full of beautiful models and a lot of craziness. Yeah, not at all. A casting call to all of you who do not know is when a designer contacts as many agency’s they want and then they send the same style of model for potential in their new look book. We went from around 11am to 6pm today and had around 16 models show up. We expected more to show but we defiantly found our two keepers from excellent modeling agencies. Personally, I liked all the girls today since they were all gorgeous. Pays off to be basically the only guy on a female casting call J. Casting calls can be tedious since you’re sitting and waiting for models to show up

However, due to once again awesome clients we all got along very well and I’m excited to see them once again for the shoot. Kathreen and Alfonzo are two talented designers who create and are the core of Autumn Cashmere. My highlights of the day were the people and the food. I had a spectacular Santa Fe Wrap with grilled chicken, avocado, Mexican salsa and lettuce (Thank you Autumn Cashmere). As well as the bangin’ lunch it was also Alfonzo’s birthday! The girls in the office surprised him with his favorite Latino cake, which was made from 3 different kinds of milk. Of course, I would be lactose and tolerant, fml. So I had to pass on that, but I heard it was mad good.

Were now off for a few days since Jodi went out of town for a little get away. I’m now stuck n Jersey working at my toy store job. Big difference from casting calls, once again, fml. Later.
