One of Jodi's Fashion Shoots in the Dominican Republic. (sneak peak)...

On sunday i had a couple of hours at an amazing location, Casa Kimball in the Dominican Republic where I was able to photograph a Dominican model, Carla Prieto. Here are a few shots from that shoot. (more photographs coming from this shoot, as i continue to edit)… and a behind the scenes film by S.R. Hayes.
Styling by Oscar Montes de Oca, Hair/Makeup by Richard.
Very minimal retouching had to be done… retouching only on closeup image (by helga).
This was such an amazing location… I had only wished that I would have had more time there. The model, hair & makeup artist arrived at 2pm to get started, and the model had to leave by 5pm! (just when the light was getting good! ugg!)
I had to shoot these is full sunlight (no diffuser on hand)…. but the hasselblad made the colors of the sky and water vibrant and really stand out. Thank you hassy! :)

LIPS by Jodi Jones

LIPS on macro... from a new series of macro shots i am working on

here's the post on hasselblad's website: http://hassyusa.com/blog/2010/10/14/lips-by-jodi-jones/

photographing two worlds... in the dominican

in the dominican republic on our way to a shoot.... stopping by playa grande to take a photo and location scout for our shoot on sunday....

even though we took a moment to go to this amazing beachside location, the majority of our time has been spent in the very poorest part of the country photographing children in places where the living conditions are so horrible that i asked how safe it was to take in my hasselblad, and i was told, i wouldnt be worrying about your camera when going in here, you should be cautious of your life.   i am photographing a book on the impoverished children in this part of the world..... photos coming soon.  in the meantime.... here are a couple of iphone shots from our travels.

Leriam sat in for Jodi today while she was testing the light for Jodi's charity calendar shoot... here is a shot from that.  It looks like Leriam is also now going to be one of the models for the calendar (to be sold worldwide in book stores to raise money for TWION.org which helps women and children in third world countries).  Leriam's "official" modeling shoot will be this coming tuesday... stay tuned!

Earth, Wind and Fire

Had a wild and crazy night last night...I suppose the entire bitchin crew got a little more than chocolate wasted, lol but that didn't stop us from coming together on this awesome Sunday and learning how to tether!!!! After the session we went up to the roof(earth), the weather was cloudy, rainy, and windy, and we had a bbq(fire) lol....

The view was amazing
Well, off to bed to meet the rooster before he makes that horrible noise to awaken me...Shooting with Autumn Cashmere for their Spring 2011 Collection in the early a.m. :-)

Wednesday July 28th...so far.

Usually I am blogging on my way back home to Jersey from Brooklyn or Manhattan, however, today is a different day.  As we speak I am in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at the studio feeling a little hot due to the temperature and the damn sunburn that covers my body.  I kicked todays day off by meeting Jacqueline in Times Square for the Teen Vogue "Declaring Denim Day."  Not really sure what to expect for this morning, I walked up to Times Square seeing a vast crowd and....high school cheerleaders.  Bow's and everything.  Full fledge high school cheerleaders.  Great.

The reason why we were there today was due to that Jodi had done a shoot for Teen Vogue and her image was on the Jumbotron below where the ball is dropped during new years eve.  It was pretty awesome to see her photo shinning in Times Square at a prestige spot.  But the cheerleaders were still there.  Anyways, here are some of my photos from Teen Vogue's "Declaring Denim Day."

And I thought I was going to go to a kick ass Teen Vogue Party tonight...maybe next time.
